President Donald Trump’s pick for a top intelligence post remains in limbo due to a congressional hold, calling into question the official’s future.

William Evanina, Trump’s choice to lead the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, has not been confirmed by the Senate months after being nominated. He has begun looking for other jobs because of the delay, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Announcing his hold in June, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said he did not object to Evania’s credentials, but wanted details about an apparent briefing he gave to Vice President Mike Pence regarding the Justice Department’s Russia investigation. The details have been withheld from the Trump administration.

Evanina currently serves has head of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center on an acting basis, but the position requires Senate confirmation.

A spokesperson for the National Counterintelligence and Security Center declined to comment.

As head of the agency, Evanina has focused in part on protecting the American supply chain from foreign hackers.

“You are also starting to a combination of nation-state actors being less inhibited and being more aggressive in attacking our supply chain,” Evanina told reporters Oct. 30.
